• Dr. Rajeev Sood has over 23 years of exemplary service in the Armed Forces and more than 33 years of specialized experience in urology.
• A graduate of the Armed Forces Medical College, class of 1976, he has achieved Gold Medals in MBBS, MS, and MCh, showcasing his consistent academic excellence alongside his clinical accomplishments.
• As a surgeon, he received the Vishisht Seva Medal from the President of India in 1993, honoring his exceptional performance that exceeded the standard expectations, a testament to his skill and dedication to patient care.
• Throughout his service in the Armed Forces, he was instrumental in launching and enhancing cadaver renal transplant programs and laparoscopic urology services, making significant contributions to the advancement of these fields in India.
• He is widely recognized as a highly proficient endourologist and has showcased the free-hand puncture technique in PCNL at various national and international workshops, gaining acclaim for his surgical accuracy and teaching prowess.
• In 1999, he was one of the first to introduce holmium laser enucleation of the prostate in North India, and in 2003, he pioneered Green laser vaporization of the prostate in India, with his Green laser resection technique being featured at the Asian Urology Conference in Delhi in 2004.
• After voluntarily retiring from the Armed Forces in 2003, Dr. Sood moved to the private healthcare sector in Delhi, where he has continued to develop and lead impactful clinical programs.
• Currently, as the Chairman of Urology, Robotics, and Renal Transplant at Manipal Hospital, Gurgaon, he has conducted over 4,000 renal transplants, ranking him among the most experienced transplant surgeons in the area.
• His expertise also extends internationally, as he actively mentors transplant surgeons in countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Sudan, Iraq, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan, Afghanistan, and Myanmar.
