Dr. Amita Shah is a forward-thinking leader, an adept surgeon, and a caring clinician with over 31 years of experience in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She has recently taken on the role of Chairman and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Manipal Hospital, where she brings a legacy of innovation, compassionate care, and transformative leadership.
A Gold Medalist and esteemed graduate of the renowned King George’s Medical College (KGMC), she commenced her postgraduate training in 1995. Her unwavering dedication to patient care and clinical excellence was acknowledged with the "Usha Sharma Running Trophy." Since then, she has continually expanded her expertise, undergoing extensive training in advanced laparoscopic techniques, robotic surgeries, high-risk obstetrics, and reproductive endocrinology.
Dr. Amita specializes in 3D and robotic-assisted laparoscopic gynecological surgeries, high-risk obstetrics and fetal medicine, infertility and reproductive endocrinology, menopausal medicine and wellness, adolescent and preventive gynecology, as well as gynecological oncology screening and management.
Her dedication to women's health has garnered national recognition, earning her honors such as the "Most Inspiring Gynaecologist of North India" and the "Inspiring Women Achiever Award of Gurgaon." Her clinical expertise has resulted in the successful delivery of over 10,000 babies and more than 5,000 advanced gynecological surgeries.
With a patient-centered approach, she integrates clinical excellence with state-of-the-art technology, including 3D laparoscopy and robotic-assisted procedures. Her surgical proficiency in both open and laparoscopic techniques has positively impacted patients worldwide.
Dr. Shah frequently serves as a faculty member and speaker at both national and international medical conferences, where she has delivered influential lectures, conducted workshops, and performed live surgical demonstrations. She is actively involved in mentoring emerging specialists and promoting women's health education. Additionally, she is a Life Member of several organizations, including IFS, IAGE, HIAGE, DGES, and GOGS.
